The Lewes October Feast http://www.lewesoctoberfeast.com/ Lewes OctoberFeast is a vibrant festival of local food and drink, taking place throughout town (and beyond) between Friday October 1st and Sunday October 10th 2010. A ten-day-long taste-sensation party, organised by local people, for local people, on a non-profit basis. Our aim is to encourage people from Lewes, and people from outside Lewes, to enjoy the wonderful variety of high quality, locally sourced produce available in the county town's food outlets. Restaurants and pubs will be running special menus, there will be food-related theatrical, musical and art events in various venues in town, and markets and stalls will be offering up the rich pickings of the abundant Sussex harvest. Lewes' schoolkids are getting involved, too, brightening up the town centre shop windows, with food-and-drink related displays. Ten days of scrumptious fun - and all in the best possible taste. (We're gradually agreeing dates, events, venues, organisations and personnel - events will take place all round the town, including the Town Hall, the Grange, the Castle, Anne Of Cleves, various pubs, restaurants and shops.) |
